The Kōmiromiro Programme – a training programme to strengthen Māori journalism

The Kōmiromiro Programme is a series of seven e-learning modules designed to strengthen Māori journalism.

The modules have contributions from some of New Zealand’s most prominent Māori journalists, and include training on: interviewing techniques, court reporting, local government reporting, feature and opinion writing and much more.

The Taumatua Programme – a cultural intelligence roadmap for newsrooms

The Taumatua Programme is a series of four e-learning modules that explore the importance of building and strengthening relationships between the media and Māori.

It also looks at the key values, concepts and protocols that will enhance positive Māori connections. Recognising the bounty of mātauranga and kaupapa Māori will add value and enrich a journalist’s toolkit.
