THE KŌMIROMIRO PROGRAMME: MAORI JOURNALISM WORKSHOPS

Kōmiromiro Programme: introduction

Designed to grow Māori journalism capacity throughout Aotearoa, programme workshops will be delivered via Zoom for Māori radio journalists around New Zealand in January and February 2022.

With contributions from some of New Zealand’s most prominent Māori journalists along with in-depth learning resources, the Kōmiromiro Programme is a landmark training programme in strengthening Māori journalism as the kaitiaki of the stories that come from Māori communities.

The programme’s copyright owner is Aotearoa Media Collective. It is funded by Public Interest Journalism through its funding from NZ On Air.

E-learning modules

The e-learning modules for each topic can be accessed from the Kōmiromiro e-learning modules menu on this page.

They are a fantastic learning resource in their own right and we will be sharing them here for anyone to learn from.

We encourage all Māori journalists to use them as a learning resource for their own professional and personal development.
